Not getting notifications on the Blaze

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I received a blaze for Christmas after having a Alta. Can get notifications on the Alta from my honor 7 but not on the Blaze??? Is it right that the honor 7 is not compatible with a more expensive blaze but with a alta??

Hi, @Snatters, the Honor 7 is not listed as a Fitbit supported device (only the Honor 6 and 6 plus).  That does not mean that it definitely won't work, just that it not has been fully tested by Fitbit and confirmed to work.

Having said that, if you got notifications on your Alta, I think you should be able to get notifications on your Blaze.  I would recommend working carefully through these troubleshooting tips to see if you can get it working.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi!

Same thing here. Gave a Blaze for Christmas to my wife, just to find out that it doesnt work with her Honor 7. I would understand if it was a new model, but it is over 1 year old...  She likes the watch, but not being able to use phone GPS, notifications and automatic syncs, just takes away most of the value with it.

I understand that the phone is not on the supported list, but if support for a large number of android models are missing, I think this should be stated on the box, rather than "Android support". And yes, I know the I can send it back, but since it was a gift... And yes, I have tried all the trouble shooters etc witn no luck.

I just have one question: will there ever be support for any of the newer Huawei phones?

Hi,

I tried all the troubleshooting but sadly it still didn't work. I thought the same that surely if my honor 7 worked with my alta it would work with blaze.

Should say on the packaging that it's not all Android phone compatible!!!

I'm now the owner of a Garmin as wasn't going to keep the blaze & it only able to operate half it's features 😢

Hi,

I've gone with a Garmin vivoactive hr & have getting use to it's features, built in gps & the app I can say I love it 😀

Only draw back for me is I can't change the bands like on fitbits but the pro's definitely outweigh that one con 😀

Hi, @GetABitFit, no I don't work for Fitbit or Fitbit Customer Support.  I am just active on the forums and I enjoy helping people get the most out of their Fitbits and solving problems where I can.

Hi, @GetABitFit, the forums are really meant to be peer to peer support and for exchange of ideas.  It works pretty well, on the whole, and we do solve quite a lot of issues pretty quickly.

There are also quite a few moderators who keep an eye on things, feed back issues, and also provide answers where they can.

The Community forums can't solve everything, however, and there are times when the best solution is to get in touch directly with Customer Support.

If you bought your Charge HR directly from Fitbit you will probably not need to have the receipt.  Similarly if you bought from Amazon.  For other stores it might be worth checking.  Many keep an electronic record these days.

I have several different Fitbits.  My current favourite is the Charge 2.  It hasn't been out long enough to be sure of its durability, but it has changeable bands so won't suffer the issue you currently have.

If you don't want to try for a replacement under warranty, here's a video that might interest you:

Hi, @GetABitFit, yes, it is rather shocking to see how much time I have wasted!  But to be fair, it is over several years... and there are lots of people who have more posts than I -- lots more!  It's part,y a social thing.  The new President of the US tweets; I hang out at Fitbit...

@GetABitFitI'm another "helper" on Fitbit for the last 5 years and as a Senior get enjoyment from that. It keeps my brain active and I have had a wonderful run with the Fitbit products. Over that time I have averaged 3 posts a day which is only a few minutes.

I noticed you only registered the other day on the Community and I would have thought that with 2 years of Fitbit use it would have been longer. I can only presume with your user name you are attempting to get a message through.

Sad, but a little decorum in the Community goes a long way.

@GetABitFitI realise there are Fitbitters with issues and many times I feel these forums seem to have Fitbitters voicing their problem opinions. There are very few posts expressing the positives for the Fitbit environment.  Always seems to be "no news is good news".

I have had no issues with my Fitbits, I'm always suspicious of the HR on intense applications. I use Windows 7/64 and a Sony Xperia XP Android on the Telstra network. I'm comparing 8 Fitbits at the moment because I have detected a distance issue when you walk under a moderate pace like domestics and shopping with the Blaze etc. It is perfect on planned sustained walks at moderate to exercise pace.

On the positives the Fitbit Blaze always syncs to my phone and the other 7 Fitbits always connect via Fitbit Connect. My phone is not on the compatibilities list.  I always have difficulty offering solutions because I can only relate my experience and only point users to other posts.

For those having issues with the Android phones, I have posted the level of Android and build to see if that helps them. My original Sony Z1 experienced all of the issues the users are experiencing and that was a Fitbit compatible phone. Here it is again for those viewing these posts

Fiutbit App 2.39.1, Android V7.0, Patch level 1nov16, Build 39.2.A.0.327

I then say to myself, "if I can find the solutions why can't others". I can feel for @WendyB because she has been around as long as me and Fitbit are no different than any other technology company and expect you do down load the manual or view it on the Internet.

You understand the difficulty with these companies they can only finance Support from future Sales and always need to come up with a better product or idea.

Lasy year I thought the issues I had with the Z1 were my environment which is WiFi, Cable, wireless keyboards so as recommened by the moderators, turn everything else off. I thought that was the answer because when I synced outside away from that I had no issues.

Since I upgraded to the Sony Xperia XP I have no issues inside and I'm surrounded by the other 7 Fitbits switched on, my Bluetooth hearing aids Smiley Happy a Telstra mobile 4GX device, wireless keyboard and mouse, Google Chrome, 4 computers etc.. So where was the problem... Fitbit or the Android. The dongle has not changed.

This link is a mooted Feb17 upgrade to the software in the Blaze and I'm persevering with that because wearing it 24/7 it doesn't affect my wrists. They are adding VO2max and Relaxation breathing

So that's some of my experience and I try where possible to guide the new users. Some of my Fitbit friends have gone the Garmin route and occassionally mention the social media side of Fitbit they miss.
