I've been using the stairclimber function on my Fitbit Blaze and ever since I've used it, it has not counted my steps. Today I was on the stairclimber for 40 minutes and it only recorded 8 steps. I'm sure I did a little more than that.
Is there something I'm missing for proper readings?

Hi, @WJCastillo, I am puzzled by your information that you are using "stairclimber mode" on your Blaze. I do not believe that there is a stair climber mode. Please could you clarify?
Fitbits will probably not record very well on stairclimber. As no altitude is gained it cannot count "floors" and as there is no forward motion it may have difficulty counting steps.
In this case it may be best to create a manual log of your activity.

A warm welcome to the Community @WJCastillo and @Julia_G thanks for stopping by.
I have to agree with our friend here, since you are in a stairclimber you are not actually walking so your Blaze is not recording that information as steps, have you checked your floors information? Also, as recommended, please manually log this activity by doing the following from your Fitbit app:
I hope this helps, catch you later. ![]()

Just guessing since I don't use a stair climber. Maybe someone who actually uses a stair climber will come along and help. Or you could try clicking the community tab on the fitbit app itself. You might find people who would know there. Now, wouldn't you use the Elliptical setting for a stair climber? Also, is it one you hold on to while stepping? The blaze is known to like arm movement. Not sure about in Elliptical mode, but in general you get the best step counts by keeping your fitbit arm moving. Also,I personally feel that I get more accurate results overall by having the band tightened pretty snug.
Good luck!

There have been workouts where the Stairclimber function has worked just fine. However, those have been very limited instances. Thats why I was wondering if I missed a step using the fitbit Blaze. Im not really looking for "floors counted". But a step count would be nice.

To "manually log" information eliminates the use of a fitbit. Once or twice due to user error is understandable, but for daily use tacking wouldn't be a solution.

While on a stairclimber @WJCastillo, are your arms moving? To get steps tecorded your tracker needs to see movement of the arm.
Where you using the multisport mode called treadmill. This way you start the exercise traking from your wrist.

@WJCastillo, the Blaze is not really designed to detect steps on a stairclimber. Although, as you note, it may work intermittently it is unlikely to be accurate. Even if your arms are moving it may not always detect the steps because of lack of forward motion, or of a momentum that simulates forward motion such as on a treadmill.
If you find you do not get accurate results (very likely) your best bet would be, as I mentioned above, to create a manual log.
