So since I have had my new phone that runs android (redmi note 5, for about a year) the notification services haven't been working, I have tried restarting both the phone and the watch, I have gone through both the phone settings and watch settings, I have also tried forgetting the watch and refinding the watch several times. What could I do that could make the notifications work again?

Please note that your mobile device is not on the list of compatible devices with the Fitbit App. This might be the reason why you are not receiving the notifications. Anyways I will recommend to try the steps on the article: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone.
