After looking at this board it looks like email notifications are something new for the Blaze.
What my problem is is that my Default Email App is not listed when I am in the Fitbit App. It only lists gmail - and that is not my primary email app. Its K-9 Mail - but its not listed.
I can't see if email notifications are working if it won't show me my email app.
Suggestions?

Hi there @NHHandyman. Great to see you in the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂
When it comes to email notifications, you will be able to select your default email account on your phone's mail app itself. If you'd like to receive notifications from another email app, you can first receive a notification to your phone from that app and after that, go to the Fitbit app, tap on the icon of your tracker at the top left corner and then scroll down to Notifications. Here, go to App notifications and the email app should show up there so you can go ahead and enable it. If it doesn't appear, make sure you've already received a notification on your phone and try to force quit the app and open it again and it should appear there for you to enable it.
Let me know if you need more help with this!

But the fact remains - the Fitbit default email app notification looks nicer than an app notification, and Fitbit only recognises Gmail as an email app that can be set as default .
It's 2018, this is shameful.

I have the same problem.
I selected my e-mail app but versa will only send me notifications from Gmail.

I just bought a versa and I'm having the same problem. Only gmail shows up as an available email app under default email apps. I have an HTC u11 and I inow that gmail was the built-in email app and I can't select another mail app as a default on my phone, but I use the HTC mail app primarily for other accounts. How can I add other apps into the default email app list?

As others have stated, only Gmail shows as an option for email notifications. In the general app notifications, I did enable my email app; however, I'm still not getting email notifications on my Versa. Are there any solutions for this?

Quote from Accepted Solution: "... scroll down to Notifications. Here, go to App notifications ..." There is no App notifications in Fitbit v.2.94 . There is a list of on/off bullets (low battery, ...). Is this still an "Accepted Solution"?
