Problem A. I bought the Blaze to replace my Garmin Vivosmart. I'm wearing both at the moment, because messages (text, call noitification, calendar, etc.) only some times make it to the Blaze. I went into settings and made sure everything was turned on (it was). But still the messages are sporatic at best. They are all still displaying on the Garmin, so I know it's not a phone issue.

Problem B.The charging of the blaze turns off after 5-10 minutes, yet if I open and close the charge case, it begins again (for 5-10 minutes). It took 3 or 4 of these cycles to fully charge the unit.

So far 72 hours with the Blaze... NOT a good experience!! I will wait for answers and give it a shot before posting my product reviews.

What makes you believe that charging has stopped? I know that the battery display isn't redisplayed every time you turn the display back on but the device still charges to completion in my case.

I know the display shuts off, that's to be expected. But when I tap the unit (still in the charging base), it shows the regular clock face. There is no charge indicator. On my Garmin (maybe I'm spoiled here), but if I wanted to check on the status while charging, all I had to do is tap it and it would display the battery icon to indicate how full it was. I assumed that the Fitbit display would work the same way.

It does show the charging battery icon in the upper left of the screen.
