Today is the first day I used the Fitbit Blaze (changed from surge). I am not able to track my time and heart rate when I use the elliptical. It allows me to do this for running or weight training but not for the elliptical. Am I missing something. While it recognized my fitness activity. I like to track my cardio results. I realize I can probably use the running option to track my elliptical workout. Just seems stupid, since it lists elliptical as an option. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

The running one will be looking for steps, so you might have some steps show up when you are not stepping, but if all you care about is cardio, then it doesn't do as much good for you, as it would the average person.

Why don't you use the eliptical option, or let the Charge use its auto detect to track your eliptycal time.
You can set up eliptical as a short cut on your device settings page, or through the app.
Then don't forget to sync.

Thank you. Unfortunately, unlike the Surge, were I was able to select elliptical and then start to track my workout. With the Blaze, although the elliptical option shows up it doesn't give me an option to start my workout (unlike with the running or weight option). Yes, the auto feature captured it, it doesn't show up separately under my exercise. I am not sure if the Blaze simply doesn't track elliptical workouts the same as the others or if something is wrong with it. I will reach out to fit bit. Thanks again for the response.

I'm not sure what is ment by the option to start. With selecting running, i get a "connecting to phone", when selecting eliptical i get "Lets Go". On both cases pressing the start brings up the stopwatch signifying that the workout has begun.
In not sure if this is what you see.
With running when i get a GPS lock the timer starts automatically.

Had the same problem here, set exercise mode to elliptical and started it recording. Once done it recorded 0.2 miles (elliptical said 2.5 miles) and only 800 steps. I'd rather just enter it manually or maybe I should put the old Fitbit One into my pocket and use it on the elliptical?
