Question about sleep detection and lying in bed awake.

Last night I went to bed around 10:30, but couldn't fall asleep until almost 1am when the sleep tracker initiated.  This morning it shows my lousy night of sleep (the differences in amounts of REM and deep sleep from the night before are dramatic), but it shows that my night of sleep started at 12:43am.

So the questions:

Is there any value to editing my sleep to reflect that I went to bed hours before I fell asleep?  It looks like I just stayed up really late the way it is now. The edit would just be making the sleep start time earlier.

And if I do edit it, will it dump my existing data for the night? or would it just add in whatever information it had tracked from the earlier hours?  (I got a warning when I clicked the edit button that "If you edit sleep you will lose sleep data", so I canceled it).

Sorry if this isn't clear, I slept terribly...  and thanks for any guidance.

A warm welcome to the Community @havoknight. Yes, you can edit your sleep information by doing the following from your Fitbit app:

  1. Tap the Sleep Tile
  2. Tap the record you want to edit
  3. Tap the pencil icon
  4. Enter your information
  5. Tap Save
  6. Sync

About editing it, your information should stay the same just the sleep information will vary since is this what you are editing.

Let me know the outcome. Woman Happy
