Resetting steps

I turn my fitbit blaze off at night. I woke up this morning and turned it on. I synced it and the time and date set itself though the steps didnt reset as it said I had done 14000 steps and I hadn't done 1 yet. Please help.

If you were not wearing it overnight, did you set it somewhere subject to vibrations, like near a fan.  These can be interpreted as steps.  I'm not sure if turning the Blaze off prevents these or just keeps the display off.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
