Is yours too low? It depends. If you're athletic (or have been in your youth) then probably not. If you're worried, consult your doctor.
I suspect I'm rather older than you (I'm 59 and the older you get the higher it should be) and mine typically hovers a point or two either side of 42.

RHR below 60? From articles above you can see that is usually in long-time athletes, folks on certain drugs, and some genetically lucky people. Over the last two years I've been doing at least 2.5 hours/week of vigorous cardio (cycling) with HR between 80-90%, training to improve cycling performance, and at work my HR is usually between 55-78bpm (and sometimes dips into 40s).
