Screen crack

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
When I placed my fitbit blaze into its charging unit and closed the lid, I heard a slight crunch. I opened it back up and the is a slight crack in the top left corner of the screen. I am a bartender and I am worried about liquid getting into the screen. I just got this as a gift about a month ago and was wondering if I had a warranty on it that would help me get this fixed!!!

Thanks to any that reply!

Hi @Darren71 there isn't a telephone number for support in Australia but the contact page below offers other options including web chat (note this will only show on the link when someone is available):

Contact customer support, they should replace it for you...next one, purchase a screen protector ( amaxon). Although i have not purchased, amazon also sells silicon bands that look like they protect the edges, but idk how they fit, looks like you completely remove from frame...i dislike the charger also, the long stiff cord is awkward..

Fitbit will not replace and will only offer a 25% discount. Horrible! After 3 weeks the screen is cracked. Buyer beware do not purchase the blaze, I have never had an issue with Fitbit and purchased 4 different trackers over the past several years. I would never purchase another one even with the discount, what a waste of hard earned money. I am done with Fitbit! They do not stand behind this tracker! Feeling ripped off and pissed off! Why would I throw good money after bad and buy another one even with the discount. No thank you!

Fitbit treats every case on an individual basis,  a blank statement of, Fitbit will or will not, would he hard to justify.

These is Fitbit's words verbatim in an email back to me. "We strive for excellent customer service and in the past have often replaced frackers that were not covered under warranty. Though customer service remains our number one goal, the demands of running a global business require that we now enforce our warranty consistently." It is my belief that they are now seeing too many cracked screens through no fault of the consumer and can no longer afford to keep replacing them. I read a review from the end of March where the person got theirs replaced. Fast forward a couple months and they are now enforcing there warranty. Believe what you may.

It probably depends entirely on how the broken screen happened and who you talk to on the phone. Via email they will likely always say that they won't replace the tracker, as that is their current policy. Obviously there are no guarantees, but if the crack happened in a way that was not noticeably a user error (you didn't drop it onto a hard surface like tile, you wore it correctly, etc.) it would be nice for support to offer more assistance than 25% off a new tracker. It is less expensive to replace an iphone 6 cracked screen than replace the blaze in that scenario. Your best bet is to call support and see what they say.

Personally, I have purchased a large quantity of tempered glass screen protectors from ebay to be able to further protect my blaze's screen to prevent this type of issue. I've already had to replace one screen protector due to scratches and chips, but it's a lot better than replacing the blaze.

Hello everyone! Thanks for taking the time to visit this thread. Our warranty states your Fitbit  device shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase. Our customer support representatives will determine if the damage was a defect from the tracker or user damage and proceed according to the situation.

I'll be around if you have any questions! 🙂

I have literally had my blaze for less than 30 days. I was told that the blaze had gorilla glass and no need for screen protector. So I had a bike accident and the blaze is all scratched & cracked. I called support and they said I had to buy another one. Of course with a 25% discount. Well sorry I do not have money to replace. Does anyone know if I would use tempered glass replacement screen and a new watch housing and band. Could that work? If anyone has any different ideas please forward!! Thanks!

All these cracked screens makes me nervous. Considering its worn on our wrists day in and day out, it should definitely be expected to hold up! People drop their cellphones and sometimes the screens stay intact. In these case I just see too many people even bumping their wrist and it cracks.......and to only offer 25% off.......maybe I should take it back while I can. Sad , because I love it otherwise

This is what I did. Fitbit would not replace the screen.... I did a $30 fix. I got tempered glass and a new watch band (off brand) from Amazon. Because the watch still works it just looked bad all banged up. The screen is pretty clear with 3 cracks. The functionality of the screen is even better with the tempered glass. So if this happens to you and you can not afford to buy a new Blaze. This can be a fix until a: your watch stops working or b: you save enough money to buy a new one. Thanks for all the feed back!

I was under this assumption at first, and then after a few weeks decided to get a screen protector. Within a week the screen protector has a small scratch and a chip in one edge so I replaced it. It's a lot easier and cheaper to replace a screen protector than a cracked tracker. My advice to anyone with a Blaze would be to get a screen protector.

Cracked my screen 3X's doing stuff like cutting the grass and etc. Luckily I bought Best Buy's warranty and took it back each team without any problems.

I received my fitbit blaze june 19th. I noticed the screen was cracked June 26, less than 10 days after purchasing the device. I contact fitbit customer service via phone and explained that my screen had cracked.

The customer service rep took my complaint and asked me to send a picture of the damage. I sent the requested information, he went away from the phone to talk to management for about 45 seconds, came back and stated that fitbit would only give a 25% discount toward the purchase of another device.

I really dont need two devices, I need this one fixed.

Disappointed, robinj1960

i would simply tell them that this is unacceptable--it is 10 days old you should either 1. get a full refund or a replacement.

Tell them AGAIN you are dissatisfied.
