Is there a way to get the screen to stay lit up longer? I use the timer for a variety of things and it always goes dark after 10 seconds. Does anyone know how to change that or if it is even possible?

Unfortunately that is not possible.  There are a number of feature suggestions on this.  You might want to go to the feature request forum and browse for the one that best fits your need (or the one with the most votes!) and add your vote and comment there.

My thought would be to go to the feature request board and do a search, i know that between several model fitbits there are at least 16 -20 requests tgat need to be merged. Find the request for you firbit model, then add your vote.
