Sleep not being recorded

For the past 4 nights my sleep pattern had not been recorded. It was working fine until Friday and then all of a sudden just stopped. My Watch is full charged and there is no change to how I'm wearing it or sleeping.

2nd night in a row without sleep record. Also skips Resting Heart rate for 2nd day. Tried everything - resetting, updated the app - no change. I did not make any changes in how I wear it, battery is fully charged.

Hi there guys @Pedropan @Midget73 @Akinom, great to see you in the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂

I'm sorry to hear you guys are not being able to see your sleep recorded for the last few nights and thanks for what you've already tried so far.

So, I have a few questions to know what I can suggest. My first question is, are you seeing simplified sleep records or you're not seeing any sleep records at all? If you have not tried it, I can suggest giving your Blaze a restart. You can easily do this by pressing the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds. This will make your tracker to reboot.

If you're seeing simplified sleep records, are you able to see the note underneath the graph on why you didn't receive sleep stages for the night before?

@Pedropan, the issue with your activity might or might not be related to this. For that reason, I would also probably recommend setting up your tracker as a new device after restarting it.

For this, go to the Account section at the top right corner on the Fitbit app and select the option that says "Set up a new device". Follow the on-screen instructions and once you're done, your tracker should be syncing without a problem.

Hope this helps and please, keep me updated!

If you could please provide more details, I would appreciate it a lot.

It did not record any sleep at all. I entered manually for one night, and it shows simplified. It also did not record resting heart rate, and for the past week has stopped tracking the 250 steps per hour.

I have rebooted the tracker several times, to no avail.

Should I re- install it as a new device?

Hi FerdinandFitBit,

I did as your ecommended and paired the Blaze again. Totally worked, sleep and resting heart rate are being recorded again.

Thank you!!

Hi there @Akinom! Thanks a lot for giving that a try and I'm really glad to hear that you'r now back on track! 😄

@Pedropan, I'm happy to hear that the issue with the sleep has been resolved but since you're having problems with the battery life on your tracker, I've escalated this to our Support Team and they should be back with you shortly with the available options. Please keep an eye on your inbox for more instructions!

@Midget73, I'm sorry that your tracker was faulty but I would hope this new tracker to work as it should. If you need any help with it, let me know! 🙂

My Fitbit Inspire HR will only record for a portion of the night.  I tried resetting it by holding down the left button and I've tried setting it tighter and looser and pulling it up higher on my wrist.  It will record either the start of the night or the end of the night.  Last night, I went to bed from 9pm to 4am and it only recorded until 12:36am.  The Estimated Oxygen Variations is always blank as well. I also use the Oura Ring to record my sleep and this device tracks my full night's sleep.

I too am having trouble with my fitbit HR recording my sleep. on my fitbit the moon is greyed out, on the app I get no recording at all. It was recording fine until  approx 3 weeks ago. I have restarted my fitbit, unsynced and resynced, unconnected and reset up, cleared all sleep settings on the app and still nothing. the whole purpose of buying the fitbit was to track my sleep. so frustrating and I have only had it 2 months

I have the same problem, starting about the same time. I started a thread on the topic then but got no suggestions from Fitbit, just other replies with the same issue.

My Fitbit Blaze recently stopped tracking my sleep too. I have an iPhone and I know my phone recently completed an update regarding COVID-19 and I am thinking that this has something to do with why sleep stopped tracking. I tried re-booting my Blaze and I restarted my phone but no luck. I haven’t uninstalled the app and I really don’t want to nor do I think I should have to. I have been a Fitbit customer since they came out. I am done with the product and lack of transparency. The cost of the devices and comparing what they do and don’t do, I believe am switching to an Apple Watch. I hope you have better luck.
