Sleep tracker not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Fitbit has not recorded my sleep since JAnuary. I have reset it, made sure my battery was charged, and even set it up as a new device. Any other recommendations?

My mobile syncing device is an iPhone.

It's great to welcome you @B_Hud1908.

Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself. If your tracker isn't registering your sleep information, you can try the following steps:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

I hope this helps, let me know how it goes. Smiley Happy

Hi Alejandra,

Thank you for the suggestions.

I have the the same problem. I’ve got my blaze just a few days ago and was excited about tracking my sleep. It’s not tracking it, though.

Ive reset the watch (holding down the left and lower right buttons on the watch), uninstalled and installed the app, put it to sensitive, but it still doesn’twork. When you say the phone should have battery, how much battery life should it have?

Mine stopped syncing on Feb 6th.  I've done all the same steps as you have and I've owned all the fitbits so I know how to wear them.  This is really annoying as I am taking nutrition class which requires me to track my sleep and now my fitbit isn't.  Really frustrating.

A warm welcome to the Community @Navarretechad and @Naomisblaze.

I appreciate the efforts in trying to fix this by yourselves. By "If your device’s battery is critically low" it means the tracker, if your Blaze doesn't have enough battery it won't be able to register your sleep as it should.

If you have already tried the tips I already provide please do the following:

1. Manually sync the tracker. See instructions in How do Fitbit trackers sync their data?
2. Restart the tracker. See instructions in How do I restart my tracker?
3. Try sleeping with the tracker on your non-dominant hand.
4. If steps 1-3 don't work, I suggest manually logging your sleep to reflect the time slept. See instructions in How do I change my sleep history?

Let me know the outcome. Robot Happy

Thanks, alejandra.

I have tried clicking on the links you gave me, but it’s asking me to log in to Salesforce. Can you please send the links to me again or send me the log in details for SF?

im getting disappointed with this as I was so excited about tracking my sleep. I don’t want to have to manually track my sleep when I wake up. I bought this specifically because I wanted a device to track my sleep and other functions. Should I return the product and have it exchanged?

I had to order this from amazon and ask my aunt to bring it to the philippines  the way from San Diego.

Thanks,

chad

Thanks for the information @Navarretechad, it's weird to hear that the links directed you somewhere else, could you please try one more time click on the links I provided in my previous post? After these steps, please test your Blaze.

Hope to hear from you soon. Robot Happy

The links are working now. Thank you, Alejandra.

Though my sleep still didnt didn’t track last night, I will try again tonight to see if it finally works. I have again shut down my blaze, uninstalled and installed the app, deleted the blaze from Bluetooth and put it back on. I will get back to you ASAP. Thanks.

I’ve done everything you’ve listed since I first asked the question except log the sleep manually. I hate that that’s my only option. Everything else is tracking and recording just fine.

I agree. I don't want to have to manually do this every single day. That's what the app is supposed to do and I bought it because of that. If that's a defect, then they should recall and change the units. Or give us a solution for it. 🙂
