Sleep tracking inaccurate on new Fitbit Blaze

Hi all

I purchase a new Fitbit Blaze on Monday. The 1st night of sllep data seemed accurate. However, last night, I was in bed reading and watching a 24min show on Netfix. I got into bed at ~ 9:45p. I turned actually began to try to fall asleep at 10:43p but my sleep log stated that my bedtime was 10:17p. That seems pretty inaccurate.

My sleep sensitivity is set at normal. I did move arround while reading and watching my show.

Any ideas?

I did go into the Fitbit app this am and changed the bedtime to 10:42 which corrected the log but I would like the Fitbit to record an accurate fall asleep time.

Otherwise, loving my new Blaze!

Thanks
Larry

The Blaze will use motion and possibly HR to determine sleep. If you were relaxed and lying down it is possible that your HR dropped and motion was still enough for the Blaze to think you were asleep.

I find that the Blaze does a great job tracking my time in bed and a so so job at tracking actual sleep. On good nights it is very accurate - however if I have a tough sleep night the Blaze overstates my sleep by a considerable margin.

Of course you can edit the log as you stated- or try the sensitive setting. I find the sensitive setting far too sensitive and would be quite happy if Fitbit would add a medium setting.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been turning off my HR and use it only for workouts..to save battery. I'm not sure HR is used for sleep detection? I thought it's just movement.

I leave HR on and still get 4 ish days of battery life. 24*7 HR is one of the benefits of the Blaze! Leaving it on will give you resting HR readings and better calorie tracking .
