Today is my second full day with my Fitbit. i love it so far but its counting a huge amount of steps when im in vehicles. It counted them when I was on my motorcycle (and added a workout for bicycling during the time), it counted them while I was driving to work in my Jeep, and i just checked and it counted steps when I was being friven in a diffent car. I followed the online help to remove the steps but im not sure that it worked. Aso, the amount of steps it added dont match up with the amount logged in the jurnal already. I either did something wrong or I'm just not seeing that it worked.

Can some one give me a more detailed step by step way to do it, or a way to see if it worked, and adjust the amount of steps it actually counted? Also is there a way to stop it from counting these steps?

As far as I am aware, the accepted method to remove the unwanted steps is to add an activity called "Driving".

If you set the start and end times correctly, it will zero any steps between these times. Don't forget to synch your device after adding the activity to ensure the number of steps on your device is reduced accordingly.

You need a car with better suspension to avoid this 🙂

I went to the bottom of the log page and clicked the little stop watch. I entered driving **ahem** the activity name and **ahem** luck had it I happened to look at the clock right as I started at 1405 and I finished at 1434 hrs. I added the time in and then hit "log" it popped up in the log with no indication of it was a + or a - and it only had about half the total amount of steps added in for that time period. And as I stated previously even after multiple synchs the steps didt change either way.

So this is my third day with my Fitbit. I noticed that every time I'm in a vehicle no matter what it is, I log anywhere from 200-1000 steps. I followed the directions to remove them and it didn’t work. It didn’t add or subtract any stats at all even after multiple synchs. This is my second post on the matter. I don’t know if I am somehow messing something up, which i suspect is the case, or if I'm just lucky... If I am messing up I believe it’s on step three. I cannot find anything to click on to once the data range in displayed. Can someone please give me an accurate step by step

Here’s what I did.

  1. Signed online to the Fitbit dashboard
  2. Selected "Log" then the subcategory “Activities”
  3. Go down to the bottom and select “Log Activities”
  4. Enter the start/end time
  5. 5. Click "Log Activity"

That post is from 2015, i find it easier now.

From the phone app, or web dashboard go to the activities.  Hit the plus, in the field where ypu type in avignon type "drive". There will be a drop down menu, click on the word driving, "ahem" doesn't work. Now fill in the time.

As for steps amd driving,  this would have to do with how stiff your cars suspension is, but every tracker on the market has this problem.
