Step count changed?

I recently completed the Welsh 3000’s non stop and by midnight I had over 77,000 steps showing. My phone logging Strava had died by this point.

when I synced my phone the next day my step count was reduced to 55,000 yet the km covered was scarily accurate. Has Fitbit back-calculated my steps from the distance sourced from Strava or something? It was very hilly so my step length wouldn’t be correct.

can I get my original and correct step count back?

A warm welcome to the Community @WaterMonkey. Since you were using Strava with Fitbit, I would like you to make sure those applications didn't sync twice the activity and this can be the reason why it's showing you less steps but accurate distance.

You just need to check your activities in your account and in the day that you completed the Welsh, it should show only one activity instead of two. If you have two, just delete one by clicking on the trash can and this will correct the data you're getting.
