Step counting inaccurate

I have been using a Fitbit One for almost 2yrs and loved it. But I wanted more features like HR monitoring so I finally bought the Blaze. I used to wear my One on my bra strap after losing 2 off a pocket or belt loop. Was very happy with the results worn on the bra since it didn't rely on arm movement. After Day 1 with my Blazé, I am not happy with the step accuracy. I don't want to increase sensitivity and end up with more steps than actual. Does anyone know the parameters around how steps are counted on the blaze? Yesterday counted 6171 steps when it should have been around 8-9k. Was a busy day at the office but owns running between meetings carrying my notebook and items on the same arm as the Blaze but not swinging. I noticed this time I still have my One on my account. Can I wear both with them without competing to sync for a test? Can I just put the blaze in my pocket? Augh, don't want to fear losing this one. Help!

You cannot wear both trackers at same time, but you can switch off between them. I also have a One, and a ChargeHR, and recently added Blaze. The steps do seem to be lower with Blaze, I have noticed that it doesn't count the smaller steps in my office, only when going down the hall for example. I find my Charge HR to count steps like the One does. You may want to consider the HR instead.....they all have pros and cons.

When it comes to compareing the 2 trackers, set up a second account for one of them.  Now friend the two accounts, for me it was fun watching them change position on the leader board.  Remember the Blaze is looking at arm motions and the One looks at body motions.

As for how it counts steps, let's go to the help article.

Hey, that sounds like it will be an interesting experiment! I will try that, thanks!

@julie95, please don't be discouraged if you see one has more steps than the other, so.e days it will be the other way around.  For me over the week they averaged out about the same, and a few months where within 100 steps.
