Steps carried over to next day

Every once in a while my steps from the previous day are carried over to the next day. I'm always in the same time zone which looks to be set properly.

When this happens, all the steps and floors are copied to the new day, but the number of hours with 250+ steps per hour goes to zero.  It's funny to see no hours with 250+ steps and yet thousands or of steps on the day.  It's also quite frustrating.  It happens once every few months since I've had the Fitbit Blaze - over a year.

Is there a way to prevent this or to reset it to get the proper numbers for the day?

Are you turning the tracker off at night?

Yes, I do turn it off at night and then sync it when I turn it on in the morning.
