Steps didn’t reset

I synced my Fitbit blaze before bed last night at 10:30pm.  I shut it down and turned it back on this morning and synced it again with my phone.  The steps didn’t reset?! It says I have the same number of steps as when I went to bed.  I don’t travel out of time zones at all.  How do I fix this?!?

Hi @Runmom3. At this point, I would suggest you re-start your Blaze. Instructions are here. Do it three times in quick succession. Please let us know if this resolves the problem.

Hi!

I tried this and it didn’t work... any other ideas?

Thanks!

Please don't hit me, but does it say "Today" just above the steps icon or does it say "Yesterday"?

Even if the device isn't syncing, the app should have the day reserved and showing zero steps if it says "Today".

If you didn't inadvertently scroll back a day, then may I suggest you "force quit" the app by double-clicking the home button and swiping upwards on the app to take it out of memory. Then single-click the home button to restore the screen and reopen the app.

Good luck and welcome to the boards.

Hi! I just double checked and it does say, Today above the steps number.  I also tried several times to restart my blaze and also to close the app and open it again.  It’s not working!

You said "close the app". Just closing it by a single press of the home button does not take it out of memory and force a reconnect to the device when it is opened again.

Only a "force quit" like I posted above will do that.

I'm not saying it will work, but that sounded like the only thing you hadn't tried. Except to contact support, that is.

Hi!

I have the exact same problem and the reset doesn’t work. Both my Fitbit Charge 2 and the app says today (with the correct date and time) but it shows yesterday’s steps. When I walk with my Fitbit, the steps just add up to yesterday’s steps.

The issue is not only on the level of the app. The website also gives the same error: steps from yesterday and today are aggregated.
