Steps-miles ratio not accurate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When I first got my Blaze, it tracked steps/miles fairly accurately. I have clocked routes before using the Blaze and now just this week it stopped converting. Today it says I have 5,749 steps and only 1.64 miles. That should be at least 2 to 2 1/2 miles. I have reset it, checked stride length, etc. Any other fixes? Thanks.

Hmmm... I was about to suggest checking your stride length but yeah, we can cross that off and thanks for taking the time for verifying that.

I would recommend doing two other things. First, try to restart it and make sure you're doing this by pressing the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds. This will make your tracker to reboot.

Then, try setting up your tracker as a new device. For this, go to the Account section at the top right corner on the Fitbit app and select the option that says "Set up a new device". Follow the on-screen instructions and once you're done, your tracker should be syncing without a problem.

Also, I'm just being curious... Are you by any chance logging any activities manually?

Let me know if you need more help with this. I'll be happy to help you out. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums @tmihar.

Thank you for your response.

I have unpaired the Blaze and re-added it as a new device. I am hoping that solves the issue. It still says 4,423 steps for today and only 1.75 miles. I am not logging activities manually.

I will see how it does tomorrow. When I did the unpair and added it again, I did reset the device as you stated as well. It's a wonderful device so I am hoping that the issue resolves.

I am having the same problem and was told by support it is a new known bug with the app not the watch.

I just got off the treadmill. One hour and 42 minutes.....6 miles.  My fitbit says I did 1.27 miles!  8,701 steps.  The steps are never accurate on the treadmill OR the road.  I have done every unscientific counting test from 100 steps to 1000.  Walked and counted laps on both track and treadmill.  No matter what I only get about 70% of the steps.  Very frustrating.  But this is the first time it is so blatantly wrong on miles.  I have already restarted it and set it up as new device.  Should I just get a new fitbit?
