Steps while doing weights

Recently got a blaze for me and my partner. We use the exercise tracking functions on the watches, so when we go for a walk we use walk, go for a run we use run etc. At the gym we use treadmill for our warm up and cool down and then we use weights for the full body work out and leave it on from start to finish. My question is, does it track steps in this mode still? As I forgot to start mine till halfway through the workout today and I had an extra 300 steps  to my partner, even though we were pretty much even after the warm up. Should we use workout mode instead?

A warm welcome to the Forums @CommandoSando88. Your Blaze might detect some steps while doing weights for the arm movement. Yes, I do recommend using the "weights" mode at the moment of doing this exercise to avoid any extra information.

You didn't answer the question. In fact the answer sounds like it has come from a robot. The answer doesn't make sense and doesn't answer whether the fitbit logs steps while in weights mode.

Yes it does. I've been i weights mode nearing midnight and stepped between sets to add to my daily step count. Also,  I'll do flights of stairs between sets while in weights mode and the floors are added as well.
