Strava issues and steps while I am driving

I seem to be having trouble between my Fitbit Blaze and Strava. If I’m out on a cycle and stop to use my phone, as soon as I unlock my phone my activity uploads to Strava and stops recording which is rather annoying! Another issue is that a huge part of my job includes driving which seems to add lots of steps to my step tracker even although I’m not taking any steps. While I don’t expect an exact number of steps I was hoping that I could get a fairly close number. (I wear my Blaze on my non dominant hand and set it to the dominant hand setting so that it’s not as sensitive). Looking forward to seeing ways to rectify these issues. Thanks.

It's great to see you around @Richard513.

I would like to know if you at the moment of stopping your exercise, are you tapping your Blaze in order to finish it or not? Since if you are, it is normal for it to sync with your device and transfer the information to your Strava account. For more information you can take a look at the Can I connect my Strava and Fitbit accounts? article.

Now about your steps, a lot of users use the DriveBit app in order to negate the steps registered while driving or some other put the Blaze pebble inside a pocket to obtain a better reading. You can try both and see which one works better for you.

See you later. Woman Happy

Hi

Thanks for the advice. I never went near the watch when it syncs, if it had just happened once I’d understand that I may have done something to sync the 2 devices but it’s happening all the time. As for the driving I’m in and out the vehicle between 20-40 times a day so stop starting an app isn’t really ideal!

Thanks

Richard McLean.
