Switching between Blaze and Alta

I currently have the HR (needed to replace because the entire back has fallen off and I have hold it while it charges). Does anyone switch between the Blaze and the Alta? I love the look of the Alta, but it does not count floors climbed 😢. I was thinking of getting the Baze for everyday use and the Alta for when going out? Any thoughts? Thanks.

@tkugabrown  I have a Blaze and a Charge.  I wear my blaze 24/7 unless I am doing something 4-wheeling related.  Then I wear the Charge (so I don't damage the blaze screen)

I have not had any issues switching between the two devices.  As @AndrewFitbit mentioned, I do make sure to sync before switching between the two.

@tkugabrown I personally like the look and simplicity of the Alta, but Blaze definitely has more capability. If HR and floors are important metrics to you, Blaze would be the way to go. It's also a plus that they both have interchangeable bands, so you can always switch to a nicer band or a different color if you want. 🙂

I agree, I love the look of the Alta. That's why I am thinking on getting both. I noticed that the app allows people to switch between two devices. Was wondering if anyone currently does that, if so how well does it work?

@tkugabrown I've definitely done it before, it works pretty well in my opinion. You just have to make sure to sync your device before you switch to using the other, and don't wear them at the same time to avoid potential data discrepancies.

I switch between my Blaze and Surge and never have had a problem

Currently I have 4 tracker attached to the same account, Blaze, Charge HR, Surge, and Zip.

I find that there is no problems putting one device down and picking up another one, sometimes switching multiple times durring the day.. Then at night I sync, i do find that ocaisionly I'll loose 10-20 steps and assume it is from minutes with overlapping data.

One problem I've noticed is that somedays it may take up to 6 hours before the app shows the combined steps correctly, the web shows correctly after 30 seconds. Logging out and back on the app straightens.

Fitbit's official statement is to sync when switching trackers, but when I want to do something I don't want to wait.

I have both the blaze and the Alta. The blaze is set as my primary tracker and I regularly switch between the two without syncing beforehand. I have not noticed and lose of data when doing this.
