Text notifications and Samsung S5

I've seen this addressed on a other forum but it was set to "solved" while the recommended solution didn't work for me.

I have a Blaze and Samsung S5. I get notifications onto my Blaze just fine, but if I get more than one text from a friend, they seem to collect without telling me what the messages are. I get a Green bubble saying who the message is from, and a white bubble telling me I have x number of messages.

I have preview set of my message notifications, as suggested previously, but I still done get detail on the tracker.

Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Ryan

That's the way the native messaging app works. Is that what you're using? Even on your phone, if you get more than one message, it will only tell you that you have multiple messages. Once I switched to the Messenger app, acting on recommendations posted here, I have no problems reading multiple texts on my Blaze. It just won't show a picture from a text, which is to be expected. I have the S7 now, but did have the S5, just for reference.

Yes, I only use the standard Android app that comes with the S5. Which app did you switch to and how to you reworK the settings?

Thanks.

I use Google Messanger,  yes it has the same name as the Android  Messanger.

I also understand that Messages Plus works on Android,  not yet on iOS.

There is a main thread on various messaging apps that do work the way you want it to.

Per Rich's suggestion after I first got my Blaze, it's Google Messenger that I use now and have been pretty happy with it. Just make sure all of the same notification settings you have set for the native app are set and you should be fine. I even am able to read messages from group posts, which I was not able to do with some of the other non-native apps I tried. As far as I know Verizon's Messages+ still doesn't work with the Blaze, which is a shame, but I like Messenger just as well. Free in the Google Play Store.
