Tracking continuously pausing when I’m on a run

I have seen a few posts about the run tracker pausing when connected to a phone due to the screen touching the inside of you jacket or similar. I live in the UK it’s winter it rains (and a lot in the summer too) so I wear a waterproof. I messaged the support team - said they’re looking in to it. Well doesn’t help us now and I’m really considering why I have this watch as it isn’t fit for purpose. So frustrating...Any suggestions out there? Apart from not wearing a jacket :0).

I purchased the Blaze yesterday. Went to the gym this morning and it paused multiple times during my workout. Recorded only 45 minutes of a 2 hour workout. Very disappointing. And I was wearing a tank so nothing accidentally 'brushing up' against the screen. I love the device otherwise so if there is a setting that may fix this issue please share. I will not be strapping it to my upper arm or any other silly workarounds. It was expensive enough that it should perform properly while wearing it as intended while working out (the primary reason for buying). When I use Map My Ride it auto-pauses and restarts when i get moving again; doesn't why can't fitbit implement this? If i can't figure this out today I'll be returning the device.
