Tracking run

I have previously used my blaze to track runs and data was automatically passed to strava.

Lately when connecting I get one of two messages, either "check fitbit app" or "can't find phone"
GPS is on, Bluetooth paired, text notifications on.

Starting to wish I got another watch because it's essentially useless as I'm just using strava to track my activities which doesn't show on fitbit

Hi @Rich_Laue I contact fitbit customer services who appear to have sorted the problem.

I have tried several times restarting phone (switching off bluetooth first) - moving away from other bluetooth devices, then switching off blaze then all back on with no luck, however we did the same except instead of switching blaze off carried out a reset with "back" and "select" (left and bottom right) buttons held for 10 seconds

This appears to offer a proper reset of the watch (assuming there was no alteration of settings at fitbit server end) and now it has conencted several times with no issues. I tracked my run properly this morning and can view all detail as normal in strava.

Thanks for your help

I have had this issue for a couple of weeks and it has once or twice sorted itself and after posting have tried again to check the error message and it has connected without changing any settings.

It appears to be an intermittent issue , any advice would be appreciated

@Rossmc sorry to hear about your frustrations. Let's check that notifacations are enabled, they need to be. Swipe down your phones notifacation panal, your looking for a message that says Fitbit Notifacations are running. I find mine ocaisionly turned off. This needs to be enabled so that the background fitbit process gets loaded. If you don't see it, check the setting in the app.

@Rossmc have you checked the Web dashboard to see if the runs show up there?

Best Answer

@Rich_Laue no they don't show up in the web dashboard

if it doesn't connect I return the screen to the watch face and manually start strava, then transfer files from strava later

Let's go back to your phones location sertings, is it set for high accuracy? Not the GPS only.
You are able to receive notifacations, correct?
Have you tried deleting the app, restarting the phone, then installing a fresh copy of Fitbit?
It also might be worth contact.fitbit.com and have them take a look at the backend of the tracker.
