If it''s still in the box.. why don't you return it?

I lost mine and they wouldn't replace it because I didn't know exactly when I got it. So I ended up getting a new one.

If FitBit had good customer service and took care of their loyal customers (I own 6 Fitbit products) I would now be wearing a FitBit instead of the Apple Watch that's now on my wrist

Truly sad that FitBit doesn't have a Trade In or Trade Up program. Instead of taking care of loyal FitBit customers, FitBit gives everyone 25% off the purchase of a new FitBit.

And I have a FitBit Surge, paid full price and bought it on the FitBit website, and the band came apart & the band is not replaceable & after my third FitBit Surge replacement, the band failed again & FitBit would not refund my money or let me trade it in towards a different model. All FitBit would offer is 25% off another FitBit product.

I contacted FitBit's Support Team & the only solution offered by FitBit was they wanted to send me a 4th FitBit Surge. I tried to explain to FitBit that the first THREE FitBit Surge models ALL HAD THE SAME MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN THE BAND, and that after 3 Surge models ALL WITH THE SAME MANUFS TURINF DEFECT that I did not want a 4th. I even FedEx'd a personal letter & pictures of the FEGECTIVE BAND to FitBit's CEO and got NO RESPONSE.

Is there any scope in the near future for Fitbit to install a trade-in program?
I realize I will likely get another 'copy/paste' answer of "Fitbit does not have a trade-in program at this time" but that's ok - this post is more in the hopes that someone who gets it is actually paying attention & will heed the feedback & maybe one day do something about it.
At the rate that new trackers come out, it is not financially sound to continue buying the new models. Since 70% of the company's revenue is made from consumers buying new models and holiday quarter earnings were disappointing enough to warrant layoffs, you would think Fitbit would wise up & start appealing to those of us who already own one (or two or three).
Personally I have 2 Alta's and a Charge 2 (perhaps I should grow more arms so I can wear them all). I bought the first Alta not realizing it does not have the heart rate monitor & was highly disappointed - enough so to end up ponying up the cash to buy a Charge 2 a few months later - and received the second Alta as a Christmas gift (I tried to exchange this brand new, in the box tracker plus the bit of extra cash it would cost to upgrade to the Charge2 but that got me nowhere since I did not know where the gift was bought -- another topic for another thread I'm sure).
A few weeks ago, the Alta HR was released & although it is the model I want, I refuse to spend any more money on these things (nor add to my collection of trackers sitting in the drawer). @MikeF has it right - almost no one is interested in buying a used fitness tracker (not to mention the selling process is a pain) - so, in reality you are left with 2 choices: keep spending/wasting money on new models as they come out and finally offer features that are desirable and add more discarded trackers to the landfills or suck it up and ride it out with the model you've got until you actually have a good reason to buy a new one. WHOMP.
Get with it Fitbit!!!!! The title "market leader in activity trackers" should not be touted simply because of popularity. The challenges and adventures get boring after a while which has me looking elsewhere to other companies who likely pay attention to their market audience and deliver on what's most asked for.

Very POOR engineering. Oh, wait no they ment for it to be a throw away item. I have been in electronics sales and repair for over 25 years. It is easier to take 25% off.

I agree. VERY POOR FITBIT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I own 6 different FitBit products & after having my $249 FitBit Surge replaced twice because of a MANUFACTURING DEFECT in the band, I asked FitBit to replace my FitBit Surge with the less expensive $199 FitBit Blaze & FitBit onlt offered a 25% discount on a FitBit Blaze. Again, VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Just because I'm currious.. In your 25 years how many companies offered a trade in?
Of course if you purchase the tracker from Fitbit. You would have access to a 45 day money back policy.

Endless. You should look it up. Start with Apple, Dell, Samsung. Even
BestBuy does it. Use Google.com. it is easy to do.

These trade in programs are not done by apple, dell, amazon,, etc but through a partnership with a third party.
Maybe no company wants to buy the returned tracker a from fitbit.

Not only did I contact FitBit's Support Team, but I also sent a personal letter via FedEx to both James Park, FitBit's CEO & founder, as well as Jay Kirschner, FitBit's VP of Customer Support, and never received ANY response from FitBit's CEO & founder, and FitBit's VP offered no real help at all, other than an offer for a 25% discount on a FitBit Blaze.

Mike F.~ I actually would purchase a used Fitbit if the cost was lowered. A trade-in program is worth it to many. Just like I never buy the brand new iPhone. I hate to pay full price. The markup is ridiculous. I'm about to scrap my 3rd Fitbit in the last 2 years for the same issue that everyone has with their band, and about to pay more for an Apple Watch simply because it will last longer... I'm just looking for a cheaper alternative and landed here.

@Jk147 Amazon sells repair kits for the Charge and Charge HR, you keep the same guts, the case and band get changed. $20

Only have ever owned the Blaze, have had it for year and a half, no problems Works like a charm. I can't believe that you all have issues with your Fitbit.
But like many others, I could love to see a trade-in program. My $225 looks brand new, still works, hate to sell it to some other company and only get maybe $45 for it. It's so worth so much more. But it is what it is. I would saw my Blaze is worth more like 125-150, even after a year and a half of uses.

Looking the trade-in suggestion, with only 3 votes, it is not to popular.

The screen on my Charge 2 is starting to fail. Does a trade in program exist yet? What is the life expectancy of Fitbits products?
