FITBIT will go out of business before they institute a trade in or trade up program
With all the competition these days you would think FITBIT would have better customer service

I have already left the fitbit universe. I now own an apple watch which compliments my iPhone well. I still have my fitbit, but it’s in a drawer with a dead battery after about a year of use.

Sad Fitbit operates this way. Planned obsolescence is expected. Being unable to change the battery forcing the user to buy a new device is just wrong. It's a bad business practice in my opinion. Since they do that one would think Fitbit would at least offer a trade in program.
It also seems some original functionality is now offered only with a subscription. I used to get my sleep data quickly after awakening. It seems it takes a couple days now if you don't pay for the subscription.
I guess I'll get my old Samsung out and get a new Samsung. They DO offer a trade-in program.
