@Magmur I know I will get that error if I forget to have the Fitbit App open and running. (Can be left open and running in background)

I'll get that message if my fitbit notifications have stopped, or ocaisionly I find them turned off.
Also if I have to many background programs running the gps has problems.

Thanks I have just tried it again, making sure the app is open but still get same message. Is it because I have a windows phone?

With connected gps the phone is half the connection, yes that is why. Windows phone currently do not support the GATT service.. They say early in 2017 all windows 10 phones will support it, then fitbit will be able to implement notifications and the connected gps.

I have an iPhone7. I lost GPS data a couple of times running or bicycling.
Before I start, the Blaze says connected to Phone for GPS data and then I start.
at the end, I end the run and it all seems fine.
when I go back to my phone dashboard, I see duration, cals, etc but no GPS data on distance or the route. It has happened twice, otherwise, it works fine.
any ideas?
