I use life fitness machines at the gym. When I am on the elliptical I scan the machine and turn my Fitbit on. The Fitbit and life fitness mileage is not the same or even close. The machine records mileage much higher than the Fitbit. Then when I open the Fitbit app I have 1 elliptical workout and 1 run workout... although I did not run. My question is how do I get them to record the same or should I only use 1 method of recording workouts?

Stride is set on 26”...32.9” for running.
fitbit miles show 2.85
machine miles show 5.19
its the elliptical and the handle bars move.
heart rate and time all match with each other.
Thank you!
