I'm hoping a moderator will see this and respond as to when we can expect this update that was due to come out in February.
I upgraded the Charge HR to the Blaze 3 weeks ago because this update was coming. If not I would have gotten the Charge 2. I'm really disappointed the update has not come and feel I probably made a mistake getting the Blaze now that I am past the return period.
Won't be upset if the update was delayed to include the new sleep features announced today.

Hi there guys! Good to see you all participating in the Community Forums! 🙂
We are still waiting to get a confirmation on when the firmware update will be released but I would hope for that to be pretty soon. Now, when it comes to the sleep stages feature, it could be that in the future it's included in the Blaze with a firmware update as well but at the moment, this will only be available on the Alta HR new tracker. You can check it out here.
Thank you all for your patience and anything else you may need, let me know!

I'm confused. You are saying sleep stages is just for the Alta HR but Fitbit's own press release said it will work with the Blaze. "Sleep Stages will work with Alta HR, Blaze, and Charge 2 devices." Has something changed? So it will work on the Blaze but only be available on the Alta HR?

Thanks for getting back @RLLangley. I apologize about the confusion.
I was wrong. Indeed, Sleep Stages will work with Alta HR, Blaze, and Charge 2 devices. Sleep Insights will be available in the Fitbit app and work with all Fitbit devices except Zip, which does not track sleep.
Again, sorry about the confusion.
