Anyone have experience with the Blaze?
Not at an airport. So it's not about TSA's policys and procedures. It's about just getting through. Just wondering if it has enough metal content to set it off. I know they can change sensitivity. But asking generally and average. It's my workplace. Was trying to figure it out before taking it in.
I've been able to get through with all of my watches. Mostly G-Shocks and Suuntos.

Welcome to the Forums @chrischoi. As with any other metal device try to avoid walking through a metal detector but if you have to do it, it should cause you any problem.
Keep the stepping up!

You can walk through with it, I have done it 4 times at the airport. You are allowed to wear a watch when going through security now, and most have some kind of metal in them that would set off a detector.
THe only catch may be the very old fashioned metal detectors........and if you are referring to an airport. The old metal detectors will require it to come off. The body scan (if you are at the airport) will not, I have passed it many times with the blaze on one arm and a steel watch on the other.

In Newark international both my sister and I, on different days, had problems because we did not take our trackers off. She got verbally reprimanded.
Note: we both had Fitbit Ones, mine on the underwear waist, hers on the bra. The watch being visible might not be a problem, but Newark requires watches and jewelry to be taken off.

It does depend on the airport, as some don't require shoes off while others do. I spend a large amount of time in airports and with my Blaze I have been through Charlotte, Miami, Tampa, Tallahasse this month all without questions or problems. If you are using the body scanner then rings, watches, and belts can all stay on. Some of the newer metal detectors that are not body scanners don't require you to take your belt or watch off (I really cannot explain why since they both have metal).
It really just comes down to you specific TSA person and if they want to feel entitled or not and force you to take it off. I went through 3 airports in one day with no issues with a specific tool in my bag ( a feeler gauge) and had not issues, then Rochester airport decided that it might be a knice and did a full search and swabbed it as well. Like almost everything concerning an airport and TSA, it is a crap shoot.
We are not sure if the OP was referring to an airport or not, but if so....if you have TSA precheck you can 100% leave it on. If you don't have pre check, the TSA agents will be walking around telling you if you need to remove your belt, watches, and so on. Charlotte allows me to leave my belt on, Tampa does not. As a frequent traveler it is frustrating to see the differences in compliance.

From Rich's post it sounds like it might, but I think it depends on the sensativity of the detector. I would try walking through with it, what is the worst that happens, they ask you to remove your watch 🙂

Just an update if anyone cares, it did make it through the metal detector at work. It's a strict one.
