Don't turn the Blaze off at night, while 9 out of 10 nights there will no issue, turning the unit off is risking a chance that yesterday's steps might not sync. There are several threads on this subject that can be found.
With the heart rate set to auto turning the tracker off will not save enough power to make it worth the hassle of having to take the time to sync just to set the correct time.
