banned from wearing

I'm a preschool teacher and there has been a smart watch ban at my work. I understand why an Apple Watch etc would be banned as you can reply to messages and take calls on the watch but with FitBits all you can do is read the messages - has anyone else been banned from wearing theirs at their work, have you managed to get round the ban? If so can you help me please? Thanks in advance

You could buy a Fitbit One or Zip to use at work.

Technically the Blaze is not a smart watch like an Apple or Android would be, still it does receive texts I can see why it also would be banned.

There are several groups that come to mind, hospital, resteraunt machine operators, but then they usually are not allowed to even wear jewelry on their wrists.

As for smart watch band it usually has to do with  electrical or radio interference.

My thought is if it is not allowed, why chance it?

Hi, @BedHeadBoris, if you don't want to buy a second device you could also slip the Blaze into your pocket during work hours.  It probably won't be quite as accurate, but it will definitely count steps while in your pocket.

someone on etsy sells an affordable elastic band for the blaze. I saw a review from someone who says they ordered a custom length elastic band to wear the blaze on their ankle during the day because of a work prohibition to wear anything below the elbow.

You can turn off the notifications for text and phone calls.

That sounds like a pretty strict policy, one I wouldn't try to circumvent by putting the Blaze in my pocket or on my ankle. Imagine it falling out of your pocket at an inopportune time. Or losing it at work somewhere. Would you send an email company-wide asking if someone found your contraband smartwatch, or just abandon the device to avoid getting caught? Questions I would consider...

I really like the idea of getting a One, which will provide some tracking for you and is in no way close to being classified a smart watch.
