Hello,
I just bought my blaze yesterday and noticed today that the step count is quite off. I know from previous posts it may be due to an update or new devices, but I assume that it should be fixed. I noticed the step count hadn't changed so I walked around my house and it was quite a few steps before it would start tracking, then it would stop then maybe track a few. I understand that it may not be real time, but it should at least catch up on the steps and it doesn't. If it's not going to track my steps I feel that I just wasted over $200.

Are people still having this issue?
Got a blaze for Christmas and notice it's step counter is off by about 2k steps compared to my Galaxy S7. When I do a test down my hallway at home no steps are counted.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @SunsetRunner!
Have you tried by any chance to restart your tracker? To do this, press and hold the left and lower right buttons together for about 10-12 seconds and this will make the tracker to reboot. After that, it should come back on and you can try it out to see if it makes any difference.
Also, I'd recommend checking your personal information. Make sure that your height is correctly entered for your tracker to count your steps accurately.
Let me know how it goes!

Yes I saw a post by you previously mention to restart I which I have done. Personal information is correct.
I don't believe the issue is with personal information as I can walk down my hallway and zero steps are recorded so it's not that its under because it's picking up 5 steps out of 20 it's picking up zero.
To confirm it wasn't a lag issue I did a test walk then sat down for 20 minutes and the counter did not increase during that time.

Hi,
I´m having my Blaze since 2 weeks...
I also have the problem, that my tracker is missing a lot of steps or isn´t counting the steps at all.
I tried to restart the tracker and check my profile (personal information), but that didn´t fix the problem!
It is realy frustrating. If I can´t fix it I´ll send it back to Amazon. Does anyone have an ideal how to fix my problem?

I am having the same issue. My Fitbit will tell me I have 5 steps left for the hour. I will walk to the kitchen and back and get nothing. Still sitting at 245 steps for the hour. The kitchen in my office is down the hall and up a flight of stairs. Very frustrating

I have the exact same problem . I checked out the accuracy today of my fit bit blaze that is 3 weeks old. I did 5 walks of 100 steps and basically it only counts between 62-63 steps, very inaccurate I agree, which means the mileage is off, makes me think this really isnt veryt good, is the heart rate off too??? I am very disappointed and will likely be taking this back.

I dont know how to fix but I have the blaze and am only catching 63% of my steps , so very frustrating, and have done the similiar restarts, being this inaccurate is a waste of $$$.

What is the step count like when doing 200 or 500 steps.
Have you done a restart or better yet a shutdown yet?

Has this issue been fixed yet? My husband has a Charge HR and I have a Blaze.... we can walk the same distance and he has twice the steps that I have. We switched devices and walked the same distance again.... I have half the steps he had again. I run over 4 miles every morning and I am lucky if it registers 6,000 steps. This is getting very frustrating. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue? I have deleted the app and reinstalled it, restarted the blaze, and nothing has worked.

I have had the same issues with it not tracking my steps and even syncing I have reset the device I have even added a new device and it still isn't tracking

What makes this worse isthat the phone is logging the correct steps and the tracker is not. about 20% less, when they sync the phone losses the steps. Therefore it appears that the tracker is counting the correct amount and sending it to the phone but not keeping the number of steps in its memory

I've had the same problem the past weeks with my Blaze. I noticed when I walk my tracker didn't track my steps. It got me so frustrated because I want to achieve my active steps a day and steps per hour but no matter how far I walk the numbers did not move at all. Actually sometimes it worked and sometimes it don't.
Now if I set my Blaze as a new device, all my previous information, will they remain intact and accessible? I want to be able to look at my previous tracked activities for comparison purposes.
Thanks.

Had the same problem with my wife's brand new Blaze. Her old Charge HR was more accurate. The Blaze was missing steps and sometimes seemed to freeze and stop counting steps for a minute at a time. Could walk around the room, counting steps as go, and then check the watch, and the Blaze was just wrong.
This is a deal-breaker. Accuracy in step-counting is the main reason to own this thing. Otherwise it's just a fancy piece of trash.
However, we may have had some success by changing settings:
1- The watch now thinks it's on her non-dominant hand even though it's on her dominant.
2- Changed the length of her stride from something like 26" to 18". This is a setting you have to dig to find.
Subsequent tests were more accurate: off by just 1 step in 100.

Hi,
I noticed that there was a comment on here about an update causing an inaccuracy in step counting with the blaze. Is this still the case? I recently purchased a blaze and noticed that there is a large inaccurate in step counting I compared this to my Garmin device and the difference in a day was shot 3000 steps, this seems way too much. Sometimes also I look at the step counter and I'm waking and the numbers are not moving. What can I do to fix this? I love the set up of the blaze and would hate to have to stop using it.

The step count should not increase until 5 steps are done, but then it should increment by 5. Now when walking it is possible that the steos are being made faster then they can be displayed. After i stop walking it sometimes takes a few seconds for the display to catch up.

I am having the same problem my fitbit blaze is not accurately counting my steps.
I've noticed that it will stay stuck on a step number and will not move until I reset it. I've only had it for 2 weeks and it has not been damaged by me in any way. I was recently in a work week challenge and lost due to it not counting my steps accurately. This fitbit costs too much money to act up in this fashion. Besides resetting what else can I do to reconfigure this thing?
