Can you have multiple devices on 1 account at the same time.  I forget my device sometimes and would like to have an extra one handy in my purse in case I forget my other one.

You can, but there are restrictions. They have to be different models of fitbit and you can't have a versa plus an ionic. There's more on this here: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1715/
