running mileage not correct

Hi,

I have noticed that my Blaze is completely off on mileage and pace when I'm running.  It is more accurate when synced to my phone/app, but I don't want to always have to run with my phone.  How can I set it to be more accurate on distance and pace? It typically is about 2 minutes behind on pace and a 1/2 mile in distance.

Thanks!

Hello @cjcolville, without your phone. the Blaze has no ability to measure distance. At best it can take a guess at distance by what it knows.

If what it thinks it knows is wrong, it's guess will also be wrong.

Correct the stride setting in your Fitbit account. and the distance will be correct.

The math is easy we need to know

True distance ran.

The distance reported by the tracker

Your current Fitbit stride.

Thank you,  Rich.Ok, silly question. How do I figure out my stride to adjust it?

The easiest would be to answer my three questions @cjcolville

The formula

CorrectStride =Fitbit stride * TrueDistance / FitbitFistance

 I'll do the math .

The next way is to walk a known distance and divide by the steps taken

It also is good to take readings from 5 days worth of runs. our stride changes a little each day.
