trying to setup account

I just received my new fitbit blaze and have it synced to my account already and removed my old one.  I gave my old fitbit blaze to my son to use.  We tried setting up an account for him under his email address but it is giving us a message that said "You're ineligible for a FitBit account at this time".  What are we doing wrong?

It looks as if your son is to young for a Fitbit account. He probably also is to young for an email address with most providers such as Google.

Hello,
We finally got an account set up but now when we are doing the setup it
just says searching even though the fitbit is paired/connected to the phone.

Welcome to the Forums @haymil88 and @Rich_Laue thanks for stopping by.

If your son already have a Fitbit account, he just needs to do the following from the Fitbit app to setup the Blaze:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon.
  2. Tap Set Up a Device.
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue.

That's what I tried. It starts the process but it doesn't do anything
after the 2nd step. It just keeps saying "searching" even though the
fitbit is right next to the phone and connected via Bluetooth.

Thanks for the update @haymil88. Have you tried to restart the Blaze? If you haven't, I recommend restarting it by doing the following:

  1. Press and hold the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.

After these steps, try one more time the setup procedure.
