8/14 Update: We are continuing to roll out the firmware update for Charge 3 and expect more users will see it as available. This is a progressive rollout, and all customers can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. If you don't see the option to update, don't worry - you'll have it soon!
Please use this thread to share your experience updating the firmware once it's received. If you have a different inquiry, please post in a thread with a similar topic or create a new post.
7/23 Update: the firmware update has only rolled out to a small percentage of users, and will roll out further next week. It should be rolling out to everyone soon. Thanks for your patience and interest, we look forward to hearing your feedback on the new firmware.
We've begun releasing new firmware (1.88.11) for Charge 3 to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Charge 3 can be found here.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CHARGE 3 FIRMWARE UPDATE: ALARMS CLEARED
We moved where you set alarms from the Fitbit app to your wrist! After you update, any alarms set will be cleared and need to set up again on the device.
To make sure you don't miss an important alarm, open the Alarms app on Charge 3 and tap *+ Set up a new alarm*. Tap the checkmark to save and make sure it’s set.

The Charge 3 firmware release of 1.88.11 should now be available to all customers today. I realize this was a longer than usual release and thank everyone for your patience. We have passed along your feedback to our team, including feedback on alarms now being handled on-device versus in-app.
I created a new floated thread. Please post any post-update experiences here going forward.
Thanks very much for your enthusiasm and feedback as we rolled out the release.

Is this possibly the reason my Charge 3 has been going crazy since yesterday??

I also wonder if this is why my other one 'died' after freezing and then going black and vibrating like crazy. Called and just got my replacement today. Hopefully this one makes it through okay.

I would hope that if this is what's causing these issues that it doesn't affect your new one. I wrote on here about 20 minutes ago and it's still flashing and vibrating.
Update: Since I originally made this post-Friday (7/17) I have not been able to use my FitBit. It shut off and has not been able to turn back on since. Today I am reaching out to Fitbit to see what can be done. I am so disappointed. The fact that there have been multiple replies on this thread alone and on other social media platforms with no response from Fitbit is cause for concern.

well mine went dead a while earlier. it has a black screen/face and won't come on. still has 40% charge last I saw it on this afternoon. Hadn't even seen anything about an update yet until I started searching online for a possible fix. I just bought this thing new in May. It's just shy of 2 months old.

And now it's completely stuck at 99% and only option is to keep updating...viscous cycle. Ugh.

Looking to update mine but I don't see an all day sync option in the app on android? It just says sync now in the place where yours says all day sync

@Ascully You are totally right. The "all day sync" button has been removed a litlle while ago.
I think @KateFitbit probably forgot to remove that line in her text.

I had the same issue, same symptoms.
So I did that "8 second" reboot and all was well.

I am keeping everything crossed that this firmware update works, as my Charge 3 has not synced since Thursday, and each time it comes back with No Device Found. The time showing is currently 2hrs and 23 minutes slow and I am losing patience with it. It has been like this now for over a week, and it was perfectly fine until an update and then things went wrong.🙄🙄

I would LOVE to update my firmware but as of last week ive been having problems syncing my fitbit to my phone or my computer. Yes i followed the steps on the help forums and nothing helped. It said it synced last night and was fine but I woke up again and the time is wrong on my watch which was fixed before i went to bed, yes it is in the right time zone. Once again I've followed the steps on the help forums. I've had the watch for 8 months, and have wore it for maybe 3 months. There are also two lines across the screen that are dead that nothing shows on. I do not know what to do!

MNnice nobody knows what to do! My Charge 3 is 13 months old and has worked perfectly till approx 2 weeks ago. I have a case number given to me from FitBit when I contacted them about the issues I was having. I was told that they are aware that there are issues and are working to sort them. At the moment, my device is "Not fit for purpose" it is not operating as it should be and as you have probably seen from all the posts, there are many people having the same trouble. So we continue hoping that maybe one time it might find the device and sync it.

That's exactly what's happening with mine. It hasn't synched since Wednesday, an it only says "Looking for Device" followed by "No Device Found."
But I haven't loaded the update. It hasn't been offered to me yet. There was a pending update of the Fitbit phone app, which I loaded today while working with support on my issue.
They wanted to do the "8 second" reset of the Fitbit using the charging cable, but it's at home and I'm not. I will try that once home.

Screen face still black. 8 second restart process doesn't work. Fitbit app up to date. Charge is fine, can't get more than 100%. Switch to Apple? This is my third Fitbit and this one has had the most problems.

My Fitbit 3 is 7 months old and just like the other older Fitbit I has has suddenly stopped syncing. I tried all the methods mentioned on here including plugging into a computer and using the program on there with no avail.
I realised yesterday that it had decided to sync and update on weds at 1700 (when my phone didn't have bluetooth or location on...) and contained most of the missing data since the 3rd..
I've been given no update option and had limited internet signal on the 3rd so nothing could have happened then.
After the sync on Wednesday I decided to sync again yesterday with no success and it has failed again today. My android 7 Samsung bluetooth recognises the Fitbit but it won't read.
I've reset from the menu and done the 'plug in hold to reset' as above but apart from a smiley face on screen, nothing happens.
Help! I received this item in mid December. It should not be breaking.
My old Inspire Fitbit lasted 11 months before failing - is this an issue with Fitbits?

Have just tried to sync again and surprise "No Device Found" 😖 I suppose we will just have to wait until we get the firmware update (whenever that will be!) and hope it solves all of the problems.I like most of you have reset it, uninstalled Fitbit app, reinstalled Fitbit app. Even went as far as factory reset on my mobile, removed all other blue tooth devices and still no success.
