A Support chat just ruined my device

My Fitbit was shutting off repeatedly and the only way it would restart was to put it on the charger.  I contacted support and they had me go through a series of steps—change my clock face, hold the button on my charger cable, clear user data on my device, and finally go to my app and add more devices and then hit replace device. When I did that my Fitbit shut off and won’t turn on again. It is dead.  I have only had it 18 months. Has this happened to anyone else?  All I got was an apology from the support person. She said they would check my account to see about the warranty.  Very frustrated. Since support ruined my device I want them to replace it, but I doubt that will happen. Not sure I will buy another Fitbit.

Just got my response from customer support a 35% discount but can’t apply it to the charge 6. I am disgusted.
