Thank you. I did synch with the four digit code. It may have been
something random in the program and link. Watch to phone appears to be
working correctly.

Any clues as to what this number is for, or who talks about it?

Sorry, didn't mean to be rude.  I've gone through several Fitbit set-ups and never seen anything like that. What I am used to getting is that during setup, when connecting Fitbit to phone, the phone asks for 4 digit code that is displayed on Fitbit screen.  Then you enter that 4 digit code on phone to connect them.  But I have not seen anything like what you said.

I assume this is the first time you have set up a Fitbit device, right?  If you can describe what steps you have gone through, I might have a better idea, or be able to help.

You might look at this help section: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

Strange.  No idea unless it's some other group, like maybe if the fitbit came from a health insurance group and they want you to connect to their benefits plan to get credit for steps or something like that, is all comes to mind.  Don't think it's a fitbit thing.
