Anyone know how to adjust the Active Zone parameters when on beta blockers as this medication suppresses heart rate and won’t allow you to reach the normal target zone.  Thanks!

Hello @CMS53 and welcome to the Community.  I'm happy to help you with with your question.  Please do the following:

  • Tap on your profile picture on your mobile app
  • Tap on Activity & Wellness
  • Tap on Heart Settings
  • Tap on Heart Rate Zones in the Exercise section
  • Toggle Custom Max Heart Rate to ON

The Max Heart Rate listed is the one using the 220 - age equation.  You need to decrease that number.  I suggest decreasing it by 10-15 beats per minute and see what you get.  It can take some trial and error.

Thank you! this was helpful!
Now, do you know what I should log in my exercise for doing the NuStep
machine? Fitbit does not give that as an option. Thanks in advance 😊

@CMS53  I looked at their web site.  If you are using one of their recumbent cross trainers, like one of these, then use Elliptical.
