Hi, @PhilSaintee , the way the reminder is designed you will not get any alerts if but ten minutes to the hour you have already taken 250 steps that hour. So even if you set your Fitbit to tell you to move every hour all day, you will not necessarily get that message if it has already detected 250 steps any time in the hour. If it hasn’t already detected 250 steps that hour, at ten minutes to you should get a buzz on your wrist and a message to say how many steps you need to get to to 250. I hope that explanation makes sense!
Do you ever get your “reminders to move”? How many hours do you have it set for? Are you using Android or iOS? Please do post with as much extra information as you can. There is always someone here to help.

Julia_G, I fully understand about the 250 steps but I’m not getting any reminders when I have not done the 250 steps. It is set for 10 hours activity per day and is using IOS. It hasn’t worked on this new Charge 5 since I bought it 3 months ago but due to health problems I’m only just getting back to making full use of it.

Hi, @PhilSaintee , well, if it has never worked, and you are really sure that in each hour when you don’t get a reminder your Fitbit hasn’t counted the steps, then obviously something is malfunctioning.
Please do give your Charge 5 a restart: swipe down from the clock screen to get to the settings app, open the app and choose restart. Giving your Fitbit a restart is always the first troubleshooting step whenever it is not behaving as expected. Fitbit is also likely to advice you to make sure that your app is updated to the latest version, and to log out of your app and log back into it again,
If a restart does not fix the issue then it is time to get in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on Contact.Fitbit.com . Be sure to tell them that you have already tried restarting your device, and any other troubleshooting steps you have taken , as that will save time.

I am having the same issue. I have only had my Charge 5 for a couple if weeks and I really wanted Ut to remind me to get up and move at least once oer hour. It never has, and the function is turned on. I will now follow your instructions and hope they work.

I still don't have the activity reminder working but at least now I can log my food again. That had stopped too. One of my problems is the Fitbit app won't automatically update as my tablet is too full. I clean things out on a regular basis though, so I updated right after I did that and solved that problem. I have taken to making sure I have my 250 steps in at the beginning of the hour and that way everything after that is a bonus. If I don't do that, then I forget to move.

How are things working now? I see a few changes have been made and suddenly I get the warning buzzer like ai am supposed to. I didn't make any more changes so it happened on it's own. I like that it also buzzes me when I hit the goal so I don't even have to check. That is one of the screens that look different now though so it has to be an update that made things work better.

Me too, and it's really annoying. I've done many resets and gone through all the instructions here. Mine just did an auto update, but apparently that did NOT fix this bug! I made sure Fitbit app is allowed to run in background on my Android Pixel, and I DELETED ALL phone tools that manage battery power, but nothing fixed it. I've taken to SETTING a phone alarm for every hour to REMIND me to step! This is pathetic. I gave my old Charge 2 to a family member when I bought the 5 last year, and she gets up to step every hour because the Charge 2 actually WORKS! And please STOP insulting our intelligence by explaining how we do NOT get reminders if we happened to do 250 steps in the hour! I can see in the chart that I'm missing almost every hour of steps! And yes, I've logged out/in and toggled Bluetooth. I WANT A REFUND!

I now have to log out and log back into the phone app to get my reminders to work but often don't remember. Removing and reinstalling my Charge 5 in the app didn't fix it permanently. It worked in the beginning, so I believe an update broke it!

I have to log out and log back into the Fitbit app every morning for step reminders to work! But I have to set an alarm to remind myself in the morning to do this. Google Fitbit support should be EMBARRASSED that I need an alarm to remind me to remind Charge 2 to tell me when I need to do steps every bour! Why did I buy this piece of junk again???!!!
