Can you please add wikiloc as one of the apps to sync, it's great because it has an elevation feature so you can see on the map.

@t.parker - I appreciate all the information! But for @Far203‘s sake (and mine), is it correct to say — this app will not work with Fitbit? The best thing to do at this point is post the suggestion in the Feature Suggestion forum?  Or try Strava, as you suggested?  I want to make sure we’re addressing their specific question.

Thanks!

It would be best for you to contact wikiloc to make the request. It’s up to any interested third party app to set things up at their end that will allow their app to connect with Fitbit. Since this seams to be a Garmin app, I’m not sure if they would want to connect to a competitor’s device, but you never know. The app looks interesting.

Edit: You can always try posting your request in the Feature Suggestion Forum.

Wikiloc isn't a Garmin app and it works with Garmin, Suunto and Apple watches. Basically, it sync with devices which have in-watch navigation feature. I use it sometimes to send trail running routes to my watch so it can navigate me but most of times I use Komoot (probably out of habit).

@Far203 have you tried to sync Fitbit with Strava? Strava can add elevation, too.

I stand corrected. @t.parker.  You mention that you use it sometimes with your watch. A Fitbit watch or another brand? Does the app on your phone share its info with your watch?  Maybe there is a Fitbit work around for @Far203?

@SunsetRunner I use it with G..... watch but the list of brands is longer. The problem with Fitbit is that it lacks of maps and navigation so I guess Wikiloc never bothered to sync with it. It works pretty much same as Komoot. I get the route, I upload it to my watch. When I record my run it will also syncs back to Wikiloc at the end (same as Komoot or Strava, no difference here). The syncing back isn't for me as important as syncing routes from app to the watch.

@SunsetRunner short correction as I double-checked it and the way I use Wikiloc is not exactly the way it should be (as usual, I do everything different :D). Basically, Wikiloc (and Komoot, I mention it because they are very similar apps and to be honest, I find Komoot so much better) have apps for the watch. The app connects to the Wikiloc account. Now, if I pick a route and select "Send trail to your GPS..." then I can pick Garmin, Suunto, File (GPX) and "Other devices". I have connected my Garmin account with Wikiloc so I can send it to Garmin but to retrieve it I need to open the Wikiloc app on the watch, then I can start the trail. I select the trail (or not if I have only one) and then I select which activity is to be used to track it. Now, I do it differently because I prefer when all my trails go into the list of "Courses". For that, I use the "File" option in the Wikiloc mobile app and then I can open Garmin Connect and add it to my Courses (Android knows that GPX files can be opened by several apps). This doesn't require installing anything on the watch but to send recorded trail back to the Wikiloc/Komoot the watch app must be installed.

When answering your question, I totally forgot about the watch app because I haven't been using it manually since I installed it and signed in. For Apple Watch, the Wikiloc app is needed, too (well... Apple Watch requires a watch app for literally everything so no surprise here) and Suunto pairs via Suunto App. I think it confirms my initial assumption that Wikiloc aims at devices that know what to do with GPX files and Fitbit isn't among them.

@SunsetRunner I don't see any way to get it working with Fitbit at this moment. I'm not sure however which way sync @Far203 needs. If using third-party software is supposed to add missing elevation into Fitbit activity so he can see an elevation in the web Dashboard then I don't think it's possible with use of any app.

@t.parker fitbit has an open API and has invited all third party apps to pair up with fitbit.

@t.parker for the Versa/ Sense you coukdgwrite your own app. The charge 5 has limited apps. You may want to request in the feature request board, rather than discuss aiming a group of fitbit users.
