App V 3.90 - has anyone dared update?

I see on my phone that app V 3.90 is now available for update (I am currently on V 3.87, and have set my phone to manual, v. automatic, updates, to reduce the risk that the app updates will brick my device...).

Has anyone dared update to V 3.90 (even if your phone did it automatically...)? If so, is it working? Not bricking the device?

Whew! I'm so glad I didn't update the app, based on all the negative comments - I haven't seen one positive comment on the new app anywhere in the community.

I was originally worried that the update might brick my device, so I disabled Automatic Updates on my phone. Which of course now means that I have to check periodically to update all my other apps manually - yet another annoyance that I have resigned myself to.

But that said, I must thank you - I was starting to waver about whether to continue with Fitbit for my next device. But now you have confirmed that my next device (apparently that will be within one month after my first year, when my device is apparently slated to cease functioning) will be anything but a Fitbit or a Pixel.
