Auto recognition of exercise

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge 5 has stopped automatically recognizing my exercise. I hiked over 3 miles yesterday and it didn’t recognize it. Hiked again today and it didn’t recognize the activity. I purchased the device in November of 2022 so I have only had it a couple months so far.

I have tried restarting the Charge 5, closing the app, turning off the app and my iPhone.
What else can I do?

Hi, @MrsDKindergarte, welcome to the community, may I suggest you review your settings in the Fitbit app on your phone? From "today" screen touch your icon in the top left corner>activity & wellness>exercise>under auto recognize you will find "walk", touch "Walk">ensure the slider in the top right is in the "on" position, adjust the "walks longer than" setting if desired>SAVE Note GPS will not be activated so there will not be a map but the number of steps will be available with other data once you have completed the walk. You may find this article of interest How accurate are Fitbit devices? which includes a section on step counting.

I hope this helps.

Cheers
