Sorry to see that you're having trouble with the Fitbit app.
When you tap where your avatar should be in the app (upper left), does the app open to the Account page? If so, that's a good sign that only the icon is not showing.
One thing you might want to try is to go in the Settings menu on your phone, find the Fitbit app, and do a force stop. I would do this when my Active Zone Minutes tile would stop showing on the Today page. It might also help to clear the cache and storage. Then re-open the Fitbit app. Hopefully, this will get your avatar to re-appear.

A settings icon appears where the avatar should appear. I did clear cache with no change. Would you explain about the force stop. Maybe I am doing it incorrectly. Thank you for your help.

When I go to force stop I get a message that says if I force stop an app, it may cause errors. I click OK and hit force stop again, still nothing happens. Should I hit uninstall and re-install fitbit?

Well, drat. I was hoping that doing a Force Stop and clearing the cache would work. It's surprising to me that you see the Settings icon where your avatar/icon should be.
I guess the next thing to try is to uninstall then re-install the Fitbit app. Before you do the uninstall, make sure to do a sync first so that all your data is in the Fitbit cloud under your account. Be sure to remember your login info, too.

Sorry for delayed response. I did Uninstaller and reinstall. No help.
