Ave BPM missing from activities. Charge 5

Hi, I’ve suddenly lost the average BPM from my activities. I’ve not done anything different. I’ve tried turning the phone off and on (I’m on an iPhone 11). It’s seem that my heart rate has been monitored as it looks like it’s there on the online dashboard just not in the app. I would put up a screen shot but can’t find an option for that.

Any thoughts? It worked up until 2 days ago. Thanks.

Hello @SunsetRunner

That’s a shame.  If BPM is missing from the Today page in the App on your phone you can bring it back (hopefully).

If you tap Edit in the the top right corner of the screen and scroll down, you should see different tiles you can add and it should be there.  Then tap Done when you’re ready.

I hope that helps a bit.

Hi, it is showing there. It’s missing from activities. It was there until my walk yesterday and today. It shows for a later short one I did today which it recorded automatically. I can see it elsewhere in the app it’s just not pulled through to the walks.

Ah, I see.  Sorry I misunderstood you @SunsetRunner.

That’s a strange thing.

Have you tried updating the Fitbit App?  There was an update a few days ago and it’s now on 3.54.

Another thing to try is restarting your Charge 5.  From the Clock Face screen scroll down until you get to Settings, tap, then scroll up until you get to Restart Device and follow the instructions.

If both of those things fail, you can also do a harder reset by connecting it to the charger and pressing the button at the USB end 3 times.

I hope some of that helps you a bit.

Hmm nothing is bringing this back. Done a hard reset. Have deleted and reinstalled app. I can either let it record automatically and get heart rate but no map, or start an activity, get the map but no heart rate. Very frustrating 😔

Fitbit support are utterly useless so far. If I get sent one more guide I am going to lose my mind….

Hello again @SunsetRunner

That's so odd.  It's more a combination of App and Charge 5 problems, rather than one or the other.  If you've tried all of the fixes, it's time to talk to Support and see if they will give you a replacement.  It's probably worth trying to patiently jump through their hoops again if it means they'll give you a new one afterwards.

Good luck!

Well, it seems I can no longer start my walks from in app, if I do that I will only get GPS. I now have to start all activities from the shortcuts on the device, only I can’t fit all my activities in to the shortcuts, so means changing the shortcuts from time to time. Kinda annoying but at least problem solved.

Hello again @SunsetRunner

Have you thought about using Workout as one of your shortcuts?  You could probably use that to cover a couple of your other activities and then change the name in the App afterwards by choosing Categorize Exercise.  It might be slightly quicker/less annoying...
