Hi. Ive set up my sleep goal. The charge 5 is saying I went to bed earlier than I did a diffrance of 4 to 5 hours before I actually went to bed. Example fitbit saying I went to bed at 17.50pm when I actually went to bed at 22.50pm. This as happened on a number of nights and I don't understand why.  Thanks

Welcome back to the Fitbit community, @Lmf53!

To improve sleep tracking with your Charge 5, I'd suggest setting up a sleep schedule and a sleep goal. To see how to do so, please have a closer look here in the corresponding sections:

Thanks for your fast feedback, @Lmf53!

I believe that setting up a sleep schedule in addition to the sleep goal you've already defined might do the trick. You could also change sleep sensitivity to see if that will improve results.

Hi @Lmf53

In case you didn't know, you can edit your bedtime start time in the Fitbit app. To do this:

  • Tap on the Sleep tile
  • Tap on the day that you want to correct. This will open the sleep metrics page
  • Tap on the pencil icon in the upper right. This will open the Edit Sleep page.
  • Tap on the time that you want to correct and move the clock indicator to update your Sleep Start time. Then tap OK at the bottom.

If you aren't moving around for about an hour and appear to be at rest, your Fitbit will track this as you're asleep. So, if you sit in bed and read or watch videos/TV for a few hours before actually going to bed, then your Fitbit will likely record your Sleep Start time as much earlier.

Hi. Thank you RiekoC. I'll try your tip. At the minute my charge 5 is saying I'm going to bed  when I'm still working so the boss wouldn't be pleased 🤣🤣

You're welcome @Lmf53 . Hope it works for you in addition to @Talahthas tips.

I can relate to your situation. If I had a Charge 5 during my last job (I'm now retired), there would have been so many sleep logs I would have had to delete. Since I worked in QA & Document Control, I would be at my desk & computer for hours at a time, not to mention the numerous & long meetings. My Charge 5 would have definitely been tracking me as sleeping and my boss would also not have been pleased. 🤣 🤣
