Black screen on Charge 5 but is still collecting data and syncing

I have a charge 5 that still collects all data and I can see it in the app.  Unfortunately the screen is completely black.   I have tried the press the reset button 3 times on the charging cable.   It vibrates but the screen does not show.  It will charge, sync and collect data ok.

Hello @TrickyRNY 

Have you had a chance to see if changing the clock face works to restore your display? This is the other recommended troubleshooting step to try when the clock face is dark, yet the Fitbit is still charging, syncing, & tracking data.

If you would like the instructions on how to change the clock face, this help page (<-- click link) has the steps.

Thankyou for the suggestion. I just tried to install several clock faces
but it did not work. I could feel it vibrate but not activate the
display. Any other suggestions ?

Thanks for getting back to us @TrickyRNY. I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 5 shows a black screen and thanks for letting us know that you have already tried restarting your tracker pressing the the reset button 3 times on the charging cable.

I’m having exactly the same problem and have also tried everything. Very annoying as it’s less than a year old. The screen literally went black overnight 🤷‍:female_sign:

Since you've tried the recommended troubleshooting without success & you've had your Charge 5 for less than a year, the next step would be to contact Support (<-- click link). Complete the prompts until you get the option to chat or call.

I had the exact same issue!  Black screen, but recording being received for all metrics. After about 5 days, the screen is now working, but the battery is discharging quickly in less than 2 days when I did not need to charge any more frequently than weekly. Resets did not work.
